Health & Community Medical Services Coordinator
Dezari began working at PWHO in January of 2015. She is a board certified family nurse practitioner (FNP-BC) and holds a license as an advanced practice nurse prescriber (APNP). She will coordinate health services and maintain daily clinic hours for the residents at PWHO.
Dezari has a passion for the “art of caring” and knew in grade school that she wanted to become a nurse. Her nursing career began in 1986 as an LPN. Dezari’s interest for learning and gaining knowledge returned her to school and in 2004 she became a registered nurse. A desire to give more to her patients returned her to school once more and in May 2014, she graduated from Concordia University with a master’s degree in nursing as a family nurse practitioner. Her nursing experience includes hospital med/surg and OB, rehab nursing (ortho, spinal cord injury, stroke, and head injury), nursing home, and homecare. The past 23 years have been spent providing homecare to special needs children and adults.
“I knew this position would be a great fit for me when I saw the company’s philosophy of “Providing Homes with a Heart”. I worked 23 years in the home-care field and I have a great passion for helping people live the best life possible in an environment that is the most conducive to their needs. I am still getting to know all the residents here at PWHO but I can already tell they will have an everlasting impact on my life. In my role as a nurse practitioner I hope to contribute not only to the health of the residents but also to their well being.”
Dezari likes to spend time with her family, friends, and take vacations to warm places with white sand beaches! She loves being outside when the weather is nice, and enjoys activities like: fishing, boating, reading forensic/medical mysteries, listening to music, and watching good movies. Her family pet is a 7-year-old black lab named Nala (who thinks she is still a puppy).
