July 18 proved to be an exciting day for the Bocce Ball teams of PWHO. The district competition was held at Wick Field. Games got underway early, allowing players and staff to watch and visit with one another. Everyone watched the first round of games with hopeful anticipation. The first game Lovely Lang played was quite a nail biter, coming down to the last few plays to decide the winner. Gate's Gators won their game, but were unfortunately disqualified for allowing players to wear jeans. Of the five teams that participated, the Sassy Steppers from Stepping Stone and Bocce Ballers from Andrew Home came in first place, allowing them to advance to State. Lovely Lang and Hanson Hooligans both placed second. Anthony Avengers and All Stars placed third.
All players showed great improvement is skill and knowledge of the game. Everyone did their best and had upbeat attitudes throughout the day. Each and every athlete should be proud of their accomplishments and positive representation of PWHO. Job well done!
