Dr. Weisensel is a board certified Psychiatrist who received her Bachelors of Science degree from Marian University, in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin in 1996 graduating summa cum laude. She went on to attend the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, in Madison Wisconsin, obtaining her degree in medicine in 2000. She completed her residency in psychiatry also at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health serving as co-chief resident during her final year.
Dr. Weisensel has worked in multiple treatment settings including residential, inpatient, day treatment and outpatient. She has also served in a number of roles including as Medical Director of an inpatient and day treatment program for adults with eating disorders. Her areas of interest include the interface between genetic and other medical disorders and psychiatric symptoms and disorders; treatment of mood and anxiety orders; and the treatment of eating disorders.
She is excited to join the Prader Willi Homes of Oconomowoc team to provide comprehensive support and treatment for individuals with Prader Willi Syndrome. Dr. Weisensel is looking forward to partnering with PWHO to move the treatment and research of the syndrome forward with the goal of helping individuals with Prader Willi Syndrome live the fullest and most productive lives possible.
Dr.Weisensel is a Wisconsin native, born and raised here. She enjoys sports, the outdoors and spending time with her two dogs and family.
